NEW YORK - The wife of the imam, in charge of the proposed Ground Zero mosque has compared the treatment of Muslims in America to the German and American discrimination of Jews.

“This is like a metastasised anti-Semitism, that’s what we feel right now. It’s not even Islamophobia, it’s beyond that, it’s hate of Muslims. And we are deeply concerned,” The New York Post quoted the imam’s wife Daisy Khan, wife of Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf, as saying.

“The community board has overwhelmingly supported this. So have all the politicians, Scott Stringer, Mayor Bloomberg. We have to be cognizant that we also have a constitutional right,” she added.

Despite opposition, Khan insisted the project would move forward.

“Of course, it has to go ahead. There’s so much at stake,” she added. (ANI)
