MELBOURNE - Chinese police have revealed that they successfully broke up a sex cult in the southeastern city of Xiamen that was being run by a disciple of late Indian mystic Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh.
According to the Shanghai Daily, police acted after they were tipped off that Chen Keyong, 54, was living with his women followers, having group sex with them and engaging in other activities including meditation and wild dancing, News.com.au reported.
The police revealed that the women, who all had jobs before joining the cult, had given up their careers and left their families to follow Chen’s “green land health community”.
The women paid Chen about 2500 yuan for a two-day training course and up to 18,000 yuan for a 21-day session.
They also brought teenage girls to his courses.
Chen claims he is a disciple of controversial Indian mystic Osho, also known as Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, whose open attitude to sexuality earned him the nickname “sex guru”. (ANI)
