Chhattisgarh Police arrests suspected Maoist from Kanker

BIJAPUR - The State Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in a joint operation arrested a suspected Maoist from the Sambalpur jungles in Kanker region of Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur District.
Maoist arrested on Saturday has been identified as Mani Ram.
Circle Inspector Ram Avtar Dhruv of Bairamgarh Police Station said Mani Ram was involved in many criminal activities like kidnapping murder among others.
“He is Mani Ram, son of Sannu Muriya and he is 25 years old. He is a resident of Gram Keshkutul, Kesar Mandi. He was involved in many incidents that happened on July 24 in which he was charged under many sections of the Indian Penal Code like 395, 147, 148, 149 and also recovered arms on 25 and 27,” said Dhruv
“The other incident happened on July 11, 2010 in the jungle area of Keshkutul in which this Maoist’s name was there in both the cases,” he added.
