Okada meets Krishna during Indo- Japanese Strategic Dialogue

NEW DELHI - Japanese Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada, who is on a two-day visit of India, met External Affairs Minister S M Krishna here on Saturday at the Fourth Round of the India-Japan Strategic Dialogue on defence and economic ties between the two countries.atsuya Okada, who arrived here on Saturday, is also likely to initiate discussions on a free trade pact with India.
The two ministers are also planning to review the G4 (India, Japan, Brazil and Germany) bid for a permanent place in the UN Security Council.
The talks between Krishna and Okada will prepare the agenda for Dr Manmohan Singh’s Tokyo visit likely towards October-end.
Earlier in the day, Katsuya Okada met Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and is reported to have discussed plans for activating bilateral civil nuclear cooperation.
Katsuya Okada will meet with Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia on Saturday evening.
Okada will also meet Minister of State for Environment and Forests Jairam Ramesh on Sunday afternoon before returning to Japan. (ANI)
