Heavy rain cause traffic snarls, water logging in Delhi

NEW DELHI - Heavy rain created huge traffic snarls and water logging in many areas of Delhi on Thursday.
The showers began at 8.45 a.m. for 4.9 mm of rains.
In areas such as Vikas Marg, Connaught Place, AIIMS, IIT, Outer Ring Road the vehicular movement was noted slow.
Simultaneously, due to water logging traffic movement was slow on Badarpur Border, Azad Market and Kishan Ganj Railway Crossing.
Areas such as Hauz Rani, Lajpat Nagar, MB Road Saket Sports Complex, Durga Puri Chowk towards Loni, Qutub metro station, ISBT Kashmere Gate, Rajghat, Sarita Vihar flyover, Hanuman Setu were also not left from traffic snarls and water logging.
Many cases of vehicle breakdown were noted which had become a cause for slow vehicular movement on Shivaji Park-Punjabi Bagh, Janakpuri-Dhaula Kuan, Hanuman Setu-ISBT, Mukarba Chowk-Bye Pass, Chandki Ram Akhra-Wazirabad, Wazirabad Bridge-Khajuri and Mehrauli-Mahipalpur routes.
Vehicles were also blocked on the DND flyover which connects Delhi and Noida, AIIMS, South-Ex, Moti Bagh West, Nizamuddin and Vivekanand Marg.
According sources traffic was diverted from Raj Ghat crossing on Ring Road towards Delhi secretariat following heavy rain. (ANI)
