CHANDIGARH - The Chandigarh police has sent out teams across the city to catch two girls involved in the killing of two persons, including a child, in a road accident in a high-security area of the city on Tuesday evening.
The two girls were travelling in a Honda Accord car, which hit a motorbike in Chandigarh’s Sector-3 area, close to the residences of the Chief Ministers of both Punjab and Haryana.
It has been reported that the accident was the fallout of a race between two cars - a Maruti Swift driven by some people and a Honda Accord driven by the girls.
After the accident, the girls reportedly took lift in another car and fled.
Police have registered a case and are looking for the girls and the owner of the car. They are also investigating whether the girls were under the influence of alcohol.
“We have now found an eyewitness who was at the spot, we have taken his statement and accordingly we have registered an FIR,”"said Mahavir Singh, SHO Sector 3 Police Station. (ANI)
