Defence Science Forum and INMAS hold blood donation camps

NEW DELHI - Blood donation camps were organized here on Monday jointly by the Defence Science Forum and Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS).
The blood donation camps, held from 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., were organized simultaneously at INMAS and Metcalfe House in Delhi.
A team of doctors from INMAS and Indian Red Cross Society facilitated the event.
Inaugurating the blood donation camp, Dr PS Goel, Chairman, RAC (Recruitment and Assessment Centre), in his presidential address, called upon DRDO fraternity to donate blood and to participate actively in this noble cause.
The event was aimed at spreading awareness amongst the community about the importance of blood donation and to show how a drop of blood donated could be instrumental in saving a life.
Meanwhile, over 110 units of blood were donated at the blood donation camps.
AK Maini, Convenor, Defence Science Forum and Director LASTEC (DRDO lab in Delhi), Dr RP Tripathi, Director, INMAS and Directors of DIPAS, DIPR, SAG, RAC all Delhi based DRDO Labs/Estts along with other senior DRDO officials were present on this occasion. (ANI)
