President Patil confers Certificate of Honour to 15 scholars on Independence Day

NEW DELHI - President Pratibha Devisingh Patil conferred Certificate of Honour to 15 scholars of Sanskrit, one from Sanskrit (International), two from Persian and three from Arabic languages for the year 2010 on the occasion of the 64th Independence Day.

Dr. Udai Chandra Jain was also felicitated with award for his research work on Pali/Prakrit. The distinction is conferred once a year on the Independence Day in recognition of substantial contribution in the field of Sanskrit, Persian, Arabic and Pali/Prakrit.

The following is the list of scholars who were awarded on the occasion:
