Hamid Ansari greets nation ahead of Independence Day

NEW DELHI - Vice President Hamid Ansari on Saturday greeted the nation ahead of the country’s 63rd Independence Day.

In his message he said: “I convey my greetings and good wishes to the people of our country on the joyous occasion of our Independence Day. I take this opportunity to pay my respectful homage to the memory of all the leaders, fighters and martyrs of our freedom struggle.

“Our country has made remarkable progress in many areas of our national life. Yet, our people still face problems of poverty, hunger, disease and illiteracy,” he added.e hoped that this historic day would inspire us to work resolutely for the welfare and well-being of our citizens.

“Let us celebrate this joyous occasion by collectively committing ourselves to make India a strong and prosperous country and take our nation to new heights of glory,” he said. (ANI)
