NEW DELHI - Himveer Wives Welfare Association (HWWA), the association of wives of ITBP personnel, donated one lakh for victims of cloudburst disaster in Leh, and are also helping jawans in running the relief camps.
The wives of ITBP personnel are taking care of lactating mothers and small children in worst hit Choglumsar and Sabu villages.
They are helping in preparation of food and its distribution. Many HWWA members are looking after injured victims in disaster wards.
HWWA, the welfare arm of Indo Tibetan Border Police Force, looks after the welfare of ITBP personnel and their families. Another one lakh has been given from Central Welfare Fund of the ITBP.
In spite of the fact that many ITBP buildings are damaged, and many ITBP families were also affected; these women are giving their own time, money and accommodation for the affected homeless villagers.
They are very effective in soothing the wound inflicted by this disaster, as a woman can only understand this grief and suffering of women victims of the cloudburst disaster.
The relief and rehabilitation work is still going on, as it is very difficult and time consuming to retrieve any thing from the heavy mixture of mud, water, stones, part of damaged structure. (ANI)
