NEW DELHI - The Delhi Traffic Police Friday issued an advisory on traffic management as part of security arrangements in the capital for Independence Day Sunday.
“The main roads leading towards Red Fort would remain closed for general traffic from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. on August 15,” Delhi Traffic Police Joint Commissioner Satyendra Garg said.
Commercial vehicles would not be allowed entry into the city from Saturday midnight to 11 a.m. Sunday.
Interstate buses plying between Maharaja Pratap ISBT and Sarai Kale Khan ISBT and city buses, including DTC, plying on Ring Road will not be permitted from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m., Garg said.
“Delhi borders would not be sealed to avoid long traffic jams and chaos. Instead, there will be random and strategic checking of vehicles from (Aug) 14th night,” he added.
