Murray fell in with members of the Christchurch skinhead community and during a drinking session, with two others, attacked a 23-year-old male, pulling him to the floor and stomping on his head up to 20 times, the court was told.

It was not clear how many times Murray had kicked or stomped on him, or who scratched a swastika into the man’s buttocks with the screwdriver.
The victim suffered blurred vision, a swollen jaw, chipped teeth, cuts and psychological damage.
