Convicted Oz stalker with ‘fetish for children’s school shoes’ breaches order

MELBOURNE - An Australian man, who is a convicted stalker with a self-confessed “fetish for children’s school shoes”, has been remanded in custody for alleged breaches of his intensive correction order.

Errol Lee Guy, 44, from Kelvin Grove, had been convicted in the District Court in October last year of three counts of unlawfully stalking schoolboys, and was placed under an intensive correction order.

The order forbade him from going within 200m of schools and prohibited him from using public transport from 7am to 9am and 2pm to 4pm.

But on August 12 the Magistrates Court in Brisbane accused him of three breaches of his order.

The police allege that on June 28, Guy was seen handing out flyers to children at Corinda Rail station offering school shoes for sale, and he allegedly offered a similar flyer to a school child on a bus sometime between November and January.

He was also accused of going within 200m of Brisbane Grammar School sometime between June 30 and July 15.

Defence lawyer Mal Harrison said his client was “a simple man” who had a confessed fetish for children’s school shoes, but had no history of sexual offending.

Harrison asked that his client be released bail until a hearing into the alleged breaches could be heard in the District Court.

However Magistrate John Costello said he was satisfied that Guy posed a potential risk to the community.

“You don’t get on buses selling school shoes. The alarm bells are ringing in my head that there is something going on here,” the Courier Mail quoted Costello as saying.

Magistrate Costello remanded him in custody and ordered he appear before the District Court in Brisbane at a date to be fixed. (ANI)
