India, Pakistani intelligence chiefs met in June

NEW DELHI - A meeting of the intelligence chiefs of India and Pakistan was held on the sidelines of the SAARC conference on police matters in Islamabad in June, the Lok Sabha was told Tuesday.

In a written reply to a question by Rayapati Sambasiva Rao (Congress), Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Maken said that on the “sidelines of the conference, the head of the intelligence bureau of India held a meeting with his counterpart from Pakistan”.

“Security concerns of India were raised in the meeting,” the minister answered to the question whether the “meeting was held to discuss security and combatting terrorism”.
