GUMLA - Jharkhand police have arrested eight Maoists along with their group commander here on Thursday.
“We have arrested eight Maoists including Raghu Singh, who is the chief of a group. We have also seized arms and ammunition which include guns, pistols, mobile, notepads of Jharkhand Army (a Maoist outfit) and identity cards from them,” said Narendra Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police, Gumla.
Meanwhile, in another incident, two hard-core rebels belonging to Communist Party of India (Maoists) surrendered before the Director General of Police of Jharkhand.
One of the surrendered Maoists said they fell to the temptations offered by the rebels.
“They (Maoists) neither work for the people nor participate in any developmental activity. They only work for their own benefit and tempt poor tribals like us to come into their fold,” said Tuti Kaccnap, one of the surrendered Maoists. (ANI)
