MELBOURNE - A traffic cop in the US officer who intended to give a motorist a ticket for speeding ended up delivering the passenger’s baby instead.
Officer Roberto Zayas stopped the vehicle in Chester, a village about 112km from New York when it jumped a red light.
But when he approached the car, he saw a heavily pregnant Mitzy Cano and her partner Luis Alberto Rosas.
According to News.com.au, Rosas jumped out of the car as soon as it pulled over, yelling: “Baby!”
“I opened the passenger rear door and Mitzy was in labour, she was crowning and the baby was starting to come out. The baby came out with a big push from mom,” Officer Zayas wrote in his report.
“I caught and supported the infant and called for EMS (Emergency Medical Service) and the Village PD (Police Department) to respond. I tied off the umbilical cord and wiped off the baby’s face,” he added in the report. (ANI)
