NEW DELHI - The country’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki India, on Wednesday launched a new version of its best selling model Alto at an introductory price between Rs 3.03 lakh and Rs 3.16 lakh.
The model was launched in the presence of Shinzo Nakanishi, Managing Director of Maruti Suzuki India.
The new Alto K10 will be available in two variants - the Lxi and the Vxi.
Both the variants are equipped with electric assist power steering, and a fuel-efficient 67bhp, 998cc, three-cylinder engine.
The Alto K10 would provide a fuel economy of 20.2 kilometres per litre, according to company executives.
The Vxi model looks sleek and elegant with two power windows in the front and a new instrument cluster with a digital readout for fuel, trip and the odometer.
Expressing his joy, Nakanishi said that the Alto K10 was a revolutionary car, which would address the needs of the common man.
“This one is a K series… K-10… (with a) one litre engine. Then, our engineers have done very well to get much better fuel efficiency. That is the main feature,” said Nakanishi.
The Alto K10 would be available in a spectrum of colours, such as Copper Sunlight, Fire Brick Red, Midnight Black, and Steely Silver. (ANI)
