Cabinet’s security panel to discuss Kashmir Sunday

NEW DELHI - Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has convened a meeting of the Cabinet Committtee on Security (CCS) Sunday evening to discuss the situation in Kashmir in the wake of renewed violence resulting in civilian causalities.

Official sources said that a meeting of the CCS will be held Sunday evening to discuss the developments in Kashmir.

The meeting is expected to be attended by Home Minister P. Chidambaram and Defence Minister A. K. Antony

Eight protesters have been killed since Friday as violence swept across the Kashmir Valley. Over 80 people, including protesters and security personnel, have been injured in the violence.
