SRINAGAR - The Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel rescued two villagers, who were caught in a recent flash flood in the Shulur village here.

The duo Hussain and Mohammad Ashraf, had gone to collect wood from nearby island, but were stuck when the knee-deep waters from surrounding stream rose.

A Cheetah helicopter was immediately pressed into service to rescue the stranded villagers following a requisition by the district administration for relief support.

The flash floods have become a common phenomena in Jammu and Kashmir due to incessant rains in the region. (ANI)
