SRINAGAR - Clashes broke out in several parts of Srinagar after a youth was seriously injured in security forces firing at Chanpora area on Friday.

The condition of the injured is stated to be critical.

With the separatists giving the March call to Maisuma, authorities imposed restrictions on the movement of people in parts of Budgam, Anantnag, Pulwama districts and Sopore town.

Defying restrictions, a group of people decided to join the march.

Police asked them to disperse but they refused and pelted stones following which security forces opened fire in which Iqbal Ahmad Khan was seriously injured.

As the news of firing spread, residents of Lone Mohalla, Pamposh Colony, Chhanpora, Natipora and Rambagh took to the streets.

Tight security arrangements have been made in Maisuma.

At least 15 people have been killed in the clashes between protesters and security forces since June 11. (ANI)
