Separatists continue demonstration in Srinagar

SRINAGAR - Normal life remained crippled across the Kashmir Valley on Thursday, as restrictions remained in force on the movement of people in parts of Srinagar and Budgam Districts in view of the demonstrations planned by the separatists.

The authorities restricted the movement of people in police stations areas of Nowhatta, Khanyar, Maharajgun, Safakadal, Rainawari, Soura, Parimpora, Batmaloo, Maisuma, Qmmerwari and Bemina in Srinagar fearing trouble during the demonstrations planned by the hardline faction of Hurriyat Conference.

The police said the restrictions have been imposed to maintained law and order situation.

Shops and educational institutions remained closed and transport was off the roads.

At least 15 people have been killed in the clashes between protesters and security forces since June 11. (ANI)
