Kumari Selja to inaugurate national workshop on “Sustainable Tourism Criteria for India” today

NEW DELHI - Union Minister of Tourism and Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Kumari Selja will inaugurate a two-day national workshop “Sustainable Tourism Criteria for India” here today.
The six-session workshop will aim at evolving a “Sustainable Tourism Criteria” for India on the lines of the Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria (GSTC).
The sessions of the workshop include Global Trends on Sustainable Tourism, Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria and Tourism Sustainability Council, Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria in Indian Context and the Road Ahead.
Besides experts from India, International Experts from United Nations Foundation (UNF) and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) such as Dr. Stefanos Fotiou, Erika Harms and Amos Roger Bien have been invited as resource persons for this workshop.
Secretaries of Tourism and Environment Departments of various State/Union Territories and Stakeholders from Tourism Industry will attend the workshop. (ANI)
