MELBOURNE - An Italian man was so irritated by the incessant blowing of vuvuzelas at a local bar that he got into a fit of anger and fired a rifle then repeatedly rammed his car into the drinking den.

The man was being treated in a psychiatric ward after his Vuvuzela rage at a northern Italian village near Vicenza, according to reports.

Exasperated by the noise from the Coco Bamboo bar, the man first fired into the air with his rifle - but the gunshots failed to silence the crowd utilising the plastic noisemakers, which became notorious at the recent soccer World Cup in South Africa.

The man then resorted to ramming his car into the bar several times before fleeing the scene, reports the Courier Mail.

He later turned himself in at a local hospital and was receiving treatment in the psychiatric ward.

No injuries were reported among the gathered drinkers, who managed to flee the path of the driver, but the building was reportedly destroyed. (ANI)
