State commandos rescue abducted youth in Manipur

IMPHAL - Commandos of Manipur Police rescued a youth, who was reportedly kidnapped by activists of the insurgent Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP City Meitei faction).
Police in Imphal said that two persons had been arrested in connection with the kidnapping.
Yumnam Manaoba, the son of a Communist Party of India (CPI) worker was abducted on Monday.
Addressing media persons, Superintendent of Police P. Kailun said that as soon as they got to know about the abducting they gathered all possible clues and carried out search operations.
“After our vigorous efforts, and after collecting many intelligences (inputs), today we have been successful and he has been rescued after conducting an operation in Samurou area,” said Kailun.
Police recovered a 9 mm pistol, eight live rounds of ammunition, a mobile phone and one magazine from the arrested cadres.
Two women have also been detained for their alleged involvement in the case. (ANI)
