Frank Frazetta’s $1.5 Million Deal

PHILADELPHIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Frank Frazetta has sold his painting for an eye popping $1.5 Million two months after his death. The managers of the iconic artist have confirmed that the painting by Frank Frazetta of “Conan - The Destroyer” has been bought by a private collector for the amount that is the highest ever paid for any of the artist’s works.
According to reports, the artist made the painting back in 1971. Frank Frazetta is known for his illustrations and his depiction of the iconic characters like Tarzan, Conan and Death Dealer. The artist is considered to be a source of influence for several artists throughout the world. His paintings have also graced the covers of several comic books and magazines. The artist was also in the news as the feud over his estate became public. His son Frank Frazetta Jr was found trying to break in to his art collection with a backhoe. He was later tried in court for stealing paintings worth millions of dollars from his father’s private collection. The 82 year old passed away in May this year. His museum also sells prints of his paintings to patrons for $10 each.
The painting of Conan The Destroyer by Frank Frazetta shows Conan slashing at his enemies. The enemies are all huddled together on the ground ready to be slaughtered by the legendary hero. The character of Conan was created by E Howard and was portrayed in the 1982 movie that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. The character has also made its way into the books and comics and is called the most famous barbarian in fiction.
