MELBOURNE - An Utah woman who has two wombs will give birth to two babies in five months time.
The babies, however, aren’t twins and are due a week apart.
According to the New York Daily News, Angie Cromar was born with a rare condition called didelphys that means she has two uteruses, reported ksl.com.
Angie and husband Joel already have three children under eight.
Now she has managed to conceive a baby in both uteruses. The chances of such happening are estimated to be one in five million.
Her doctor discovered her two foetuses during her first ultrasound examination. They were at slightly different stages of development, reports The Daily Telegraph.
“He said I’m five weeks and four days in one, and six weeks and one day in the other,” Angie told local TV station KTLA.
According to her doctor Steve Terry, less than 100 ‘double pregnancies’ have been reported worldwide.
“Oh, I’m a little nervous, just because I know what can happen, but I’m really excited,” Angie said. (ANI)
