Fake cosmetics items seized in Jaipur

JAIPUR - Rajasthan police have seized duplicate cosmetics items, of many reputed brands, from two private shops in Nahargarh area in Jaipur on Sunday.
According to the Rajasthan police, they received complaints from a leading cosmetic company regarding the sale of fake items in their brand’s name and later they raided those shops.
“We investigated on this matter, they are Chopra brothers and the another one is Mulani, who has shops on Kinargarh road. When we raided there, we recovered all the cosmetics items, which are not of Hindustan Lever Company and are local, but the brand printed on these products is of Hindustan lever. Most of the items are body lotions, face powder, perfumes,” said Mohar Singh Puniya, SHO Nahargargh Police Station, Jaipur.
Police arrested three persons and registered cases against them under the Copyright Act and under section 420.
“According to the law, this comes under Copyright Act as well as fraud (Section 420) with the common people and it is harmful from the medical point of view, and also harmful for our body to use such duplicate items,” said Singh. (ANI)
