SRINAGAR - The Indian Air Force on Saturday came to the rescue of eight pilgrims stuck at the foothills of the Bahu Fort Temple in Jammu and Kashmir due to flash floods in River Tawi.

The IAF’s efforts were requisitioned by the Jammu District Administration.

The District Administration had sent its three personnel towards helping the pilgrims, but because of the continuously rising level of Tawi they also got stuck.

The IAF responding promptly pressed its Mi-17 aircraft into service and evacuated the stranded pilgrims and flew them to Jammu to safety. (ANI)
