Roy Rogers’ dog Bullet fetches $35K at NY auction
NEW YORK — Roy Rogers’ stuffed and mounted dog, Bullet, has fetched $35,000 on the second day of an auction of the movie cowboy’s belongings in New York City.
The preserved remains of Rogers’ wife’s horse, Buttermilk, also were auctioned Thursday. Buttermilk sold for $25,000 — less than a tenth of the price of Rogers’ horse, Trigger, which was sold Wednesday.
Christie’s has not yet released information on Bullet’s and Buttermilk’s new owners.
But Trigger is heading for Omaha, Neb., after being purchased by the rural cable TV network RFD-TV.
The Rogers auction included more than 1,000 items from the now-closed Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Museum in Branson, Mo.
