KUALA LUMPUR - The Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) Youth has urged Indian youths in the country to grab the full and partial scholarships being offered by Limkokwing University.
MIC Youth Higher Education Bureau Chairman M. Mahaganapathy said that the scholarships, worth about 4.5 million ringgits, are for 120 students who have completed their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia.
“Our people still have the orthodox style of thinking when it comes to the field of studies relating to higher education. So, we are trying to get them to venture into something new,” The New Straits Times quoted Mahaganapathy, as saying. Many of them did not want to take the risk of being unemployed if they took up a new field of study, but I assure them courses in these fields offered here are in good demand,” he added.
MIC Youth chief T. Mohan appreciated the university’s initiative, and said: “We have had many universities and colleges offering partial scholarships before, but this is the first time a university is coming forward to offer full scholarships.”
The undergraduate courses offered for full scholarships include Web Design and Technology, Professional Design, Marketing, Landscape Architecture and Event Management. (ANI)
