New Delhi, July 14 (ANI): Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Murli Deora on Wednesday launched the ‘Preferred Time LPG Delivery’ scheme, through which the customers can get cooking gas refills at any time or day of the week by paying an additional Rs 25 or 50 per cylinder.

“The scheme is completely optional and customers who do not opt for it will continue to get their refills as per the current schedule,” said Deora.

“The government currently subsidises domestic LPG by over 200 rupees per cylinder, and the new initiative is aimed at improving customer service. Under the scheme, the cylinder delivery would depend on the amount paid,” he added.

The customer would be charged Rs 50 rupees for deliveries sought before 8 a.m. or between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on any day of the week in metro cities, and Rs 25 for any time between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The customers in the other cities would be charged Rs 40 and 20. (ANI)
