Jewel goes undercover at karaoke bar for Web video
NEW YORK — With a prosthetic nose, wig and glasses, the singer Jewel has pulled off a comic mission of “undercover karaoke.”
In a popular Web video posted Tuesday on the comedy site FunnyOrDie.com, Jewel dons a disguise, posing as a meek business woman named Karen. When her supposed co-workers coax her to the stage of a Los Angeles karaoke bar, she belts out — to the astonishment of the audience — her hits “Who Will Save Your Soul” and “Foolish Games.”
The video was rapidly gaining views and had been watched more than 160,000 times as of Tuesday evening.
