Photographs of Maoists released in Chhattisgarh

DANTEWADA - Police in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada District have released photographs of the six Maoists who attacked the house of a local Congress party leader on Thursday.
Congress party leader Avdesh Gautam escaped, but one of his close relatives and a security guard were killed in the attack.
Talking to reporters in Dantewada district on Sunday, S.R.P. Kalluri, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Dantewada, gave details about the arrest of the Maoists.
“Recently the attack that took place in Nakulhar at the residence of congress leader Avdesh Gautam by the Maoists, in that connection Dantewada police has succeeded to arrest six Maoists. It has revealed the complete matter. The police have received the names of 60-70 accused persons. ” Kalluri said.
He further said that as per the preliminary inquiry it has been revealed that a person named Lingaram Kadopi was the mastermind of the attack.
“Preliminary inquiry by the police has revealed a Maoist Lingaram Kadopi was the mastermind of the attack. He is a resident of Sameli and is receiving some training in New Delhi. They had executed this attack after planning it for 10-15 days in New Delhi.”
Kalluri said that since the incident took place, many of the Maoists went underground.
A group of around 30 rebels stormed the residential compound of Congress leader Avdesh Gautam and started firing indiscriminately.
At least four Maoists were reported killed in the retaliatory assault by almost half a dozen security guards at the leader’s house. (ANI)
