All-party meeting ends in Srinagar

SRINAGAR - The all-party meeting convened by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah ended Monday evening with participants saying an independent enquiry will be carried out into the recent deaths of civilians.

The members also urged the central government to strengthen the peace process through dialogue and decided to invite Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s attention to the problems of the troubled state.

A delegation of all parties from the state would meet the prime minister.
