COOK ISLANDS (GaeaTimes.com)- It has been only a few weeks that the United States experienced a partial lunar eclipse and the latest reports suggest that the country will be engulfed in total solar eclipse today. According to reports, the eclipse will start from 2:15 in the afternoon and will first be seen from the Cook Islands.
Citizens of the US are reportedly very excited about the eclipse taking place and are looking forward to it. This is chiefly because of the fact that it is not every once in a while that people get to see such incidents occurring. Scientists have referred to the solar eclipse 2010 as once in a lifetime incident, an incident which can be seen once in hundred years. While the partial lunar eclipse had not satisfied everybody around the continent, the solar eclipse promises to do so. Beginning in the Cook Islands and extending up to Chile, America will be shrouded in total darkness today. According to reports, the solar eclipse will start at 2:15 in the afternoon and will end before 5 in the evening.
It can be said that it is the southern hemisphere of the American continent which will chiefly experience the solar eclipse today. Where the people are very excited, the media is not to be left far behind too. The solar eclipse this year is expected to be covered by almost all big media houses in countries across America. Which also means that even if somebody cannot get a first hand view of the solar eclipse, he can surely satisfy himself by watching the same on television.
