Curfew imposed in Maisuma in Srinagar

SRINAGAR - After an uneasy calm yesterday here the authorities have re-imposed curfew in Maisuma locality this morning, following instances of stone-pelting.

The curfew here was lifted yesterday evening to enable people to offer prayers on Shab-e-Mehraj, an occasion with religious significance. The decision was taken at a meeting presided over by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

People participated in the religious prayers and were busy buying essential items and medicines in the evening. However, this morning, following instances of stone pelting decided to reimpose the curfew in Maisuma.

The other places that where curfew was re-imposed included locations in Ananatnag, Pulwama and Kakapora districts.(ANI)
