Chennai July 4: (ANI) To spread awareness about global warming, students from various schools and colleges have come together to create sand sculptures in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Highlighting the importance of growing trees, the students made sculptures depicting global warming, trees, skeleton, industrial waste and the Bhopal gas tragedy.

The New Society Organisation, a non-governmental organization, encouraged the students to put up the sand sculptures on the Marina Beach.

“In today’s world, trees are destroyed and formation of cities have increased.

Due to this, global warming has increased and caused health hazards. Therefore, in order to spread awareness about all this, we have put up these sand sculptures for public,” said Alamelu, a participant.

The students said it took them around 12 hours to complete the artwork. (ANI)
