SRINAGAR - All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the issue of Kashmir should be the focus of the upcoming talks between India and Pakistan.
“Since the foreign ministers of India and Pakistan are meeting with each other, we want to give them our message that they should currently give the priority to the issue of massacre in Kashmir and the violence occurring there,” Farooq told a news conference here on Saturday.
Krishna will visit Islamabad on July 15 for talks with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
Farooq said that people of India should know the reality now and issues of Kashmir should be handled in a proper manner.
He further condemned Home Minister P. Chidambaram for saying that the Pakistan-based banned outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was behind the recent spate of tensions in Kashmir.
“Recently a statement was given by the Home Minister in which he said that LeT, Pakistan and antinational elements are behind whatever is currently happening in Kashmir, it is to be condemned,” said Farooq. (ANI)
