In Today in History for June 27, The Associated Press incorrectly reported landing details of eight Nazi saboteurs whose capture was announced by the FBI on June 27, 1942. Four went ashore from a submarine on New York’s Long Island, not all eight. The other four arrived separately at Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
