Three Maoists arrested in Jharkhand

LATEHAR - Three Maoists were arrested in Jharkhand’s Latehar District on Wednesday.
The rebels were arrested from a jungle near Chandawa of Latehar.
Among those arrested is Dewakar, an area commander of the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI).
“He (Dewakar) was involved in many terrible criminal activities in the region. His sub-zonal commander was also arrested a few days ago and now after his arrest the hold of PLFI in the area has weakened to an extent,” said Kuldeep Dwivedi, Superintendent of Police, Latehar.
Three pistols, two rifles, 12 cartridges, 18 sim cards, eight mobile phones, one motorbike and one hundred thousand rupees in cash, collected as levy through extortion, were recovered from them. (ANI)
