CHANDIGARH, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Chandigarh Police have declared its decision to offer reimbursements on phone bills of beat constables. Reportedly, the Chandigarh Police beat constables will be reimbursed on their cellphone bills on a monthly basis.
It was also declared that the Chandigarh Police beat constables shall have to get themselves a handset for which Chandigarh Police shall provide the sim card. Any phone calls made from the particular the number shall be recorded by Chandigarh Police along with the charges and the constable shall be reimbursed at the end of the month. The reimbursed amount is, however, subjected to a certain scale and not beyond that. All Chandigarh Police beat constables shall be benefited from this newly launched reimbursement on phone bills program. The decision to introduce the reimbursement scheme was proposed in a meeting that was held at the UT Secretariat. All senior UT police officers were present in the meeting when the reimbursement scheme was proposed. All officers appreciated the reimbursement idea and it was declared that the reimbursement scheme shall be implemented from the upcoming month of July. As a start off scheme, Chandigarh Police shall provide a monthly reimbursement of Rs 250 for one and all.
Chandigarh Police administrative officers told the media that the reimbursement scheme is an initiative which shall enhance the connectivity and communication between all police personnel. The reimbursement scheme is extremely important for all beat constables who are the first one to reach a crime scene and hence they need a faster mode of communication to inform their superiors. Chandigarh Police administration is of the opinion that the amount which has been fixed for the reimbursement is a substantial one owing to free incoming calls and economic rates on all outgoing calls.
