Hazaribagh (Jharkhand), June 24 (ANI):Security forces on Thursday arrested a Maoist leader, Dashrath Mahto, in Jharkhand’s Hazaribag District.
Mahato was arrested from a forest area.
Mahato’s brother and father are also fighting for the Moaists.
“The CRPF and police carried out a joint operation and he (Dashrath Mahto) was arrested from a nearby village with ammunitions on him. He is the brother of Baijnath Mahto, a Maoist commander. His father, Bhirvu Mahato, was also sent to jail last year,” said Pankaj Kamboj, Superintendent of Police, Hazaribag.
A rifle along with 26 cartridges was also recovered from Mahato.
“The rifle that he is carrying is possibly stolen from the police. We will carry out investigations to confirm it,” he said. (ANI)
