HYDERABAD - A two-week food festival showcasing exotic Arabian food items is underway in Hyderabad.
The festival, which began on Saturday, has been organised by ‘Novotel Group ‘ at Hotel Novotel.
Indigenous food items have been put on display, like mansaf, knafeh, baklawa, basbousa, and many more Arabian dishes.
“We are staying here out of pleasure. We are enjoying everyday the qualities of food. So Arabian is quite nice for us,” said Alina, a tourist from Canada.
The ambience has been set as simply Arabic, right from the decoration to utensils. Arabic music is also played.
The staff of the restaurant is also attired in Arabic tradition.
“We have the whole restaurant-in terms of ambience-completely set up like an Arabic restaurant. We have the dresses, which are very traditional to Arabic countries… Morocco or a Turkish cap things like that. We have a chef who has flown in from Morocco, who is working in Qatar just for the food festival,” said Bhargav Kumar, chef-in-charge of Hotel Novotel.
The fair will conclude on June 27. (ANI)
