Stray dogs have feast in Rajkot

Rajkot, June 23 (ANI): A Non-Government Organisation (NGO) has organised a unique kind of feast for over 12,000 stray dogs in Rajkot on Tuesday.

The initiative was taken by the NGO Jaymataji Aboljiv Seva Mandal (JASM) with the support of shopkeepers in the area.

“We have arranged a program to feed 12,000 dogs, in which we are providing chapattis, ladoos (Indian sweet), ganthiyas (a savoury), milk, biscuit, milk and chapattis,” said Daulatsingh Chauhan, Founder of JASM.

A total of 23 teams were sent in various 23 wards of Rajkot city to feed the dogs.

“With the help of JASM, we are proving food to dogs. Our 23 vehicles along with our 23 teams will provide food to street dogs. We have also arranged a ritual for Lord Dattatreya and also took out a small procession in which many dogs with their owners, school students, and senior citizens participated,” said Mital Khetani, a resident.

As much as 10,000 litres of milk, 25,000 chapattis, 2,000 kilograms of laddoos, 1,200 kilograms of ganthiya and 100 cartons of glucose biscuits were fed. (ANI)
