Ex-cop asks officers to arrest him for driving while drunk

MELBOURNE - An American man, who used to be a police officer, asked cops, who pulled him over for speeding, to arrest him for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Loren Stead, 40, had been pulled over for speeding in the West Roxbury neighbourhood, and officers noticed that he was sweating profusely and breathing heavily.
After they went back to the cruiser to check his license and registration, Stead left his vehicle and asked to be arrested.
“I was an officer for ten years, and I know that when you take a long time that means you’re going to take the person,” the Courier Mail quoted him as telling the police.
Further investigation suggested that Stead had been drinking. When asked what he thought he was going to be arrested for, Stead answered it was going to be for an OUI (operating under the influence).
Stead failed sobriety tests and was charged exactly the way he predicted. (ANI)
