Summer Solstice

WILTSHIRE, UNITED KINGDOM (GaeaTimes.com)- More than 20,000 revelers flocked together at Stonehenge to celebrate the grand summer solstice on Monday morning. Reportedly, the number of revelers visiting Stonehenge for summer solstice were less compared to the number of revelers in the previous year.

Everyone had lined up right in front of the Stonehenge as the sun of summer solstice rose high above sharp at 4.52 AM in the morning. As a matter of fact, summer solstice carries immense importance for all those who are of English origin. One of them was Victoria Campbell who told the media that summer solstice is one’s belief in the pagan roots that drives one to be present at the Stonehenge and be a witness to the sunrise. After the sun rose above the Stonehenge, the revelers at the Salisbury Plain were all in cheers and applause. Quite evidently they were all elated to be a part of the summer solstice. The cops said that this year the number of revelers visiting Stonehenge for summer solstice is less compared to the previous year which had witnessed a huge ruckus that led to road closures and heavy arrests.

In spite of that the police still took 34 people under custody due to some minor drug offenses. They also said that number of visitors depends upon the particular day of the week which marks the summer solstice. This time summer solstice had fallen on a Monday which happens to be a busy working day and hence very less people had turned up at the Stonehenge. However, that has helped the cops because they were able to maintain decorum in the place and didn’t have to face any hindrance in their work.
