Gang members burn bus in El Salvador; 10 die
SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador — Police say gang members have set a bus afire near El Salvador’s capital, killing at least 10 of the people aboard.
National Police Commissioner Carlos Ascencio says the gang members tossed gasoline on the bus full of passengers and set it alight in a gang-plagued part of the municipality of Mejicanos.
At least 10 have died and several others are badly hurt.
Ascencio says police who reached the scene Sunday night had to break glass to free passengers from flames.
He says three people have been detained and one smelled of gasoline.
