NEW DELHI - The reconstituted Group of Ministers (GoM) on Bhopal gas disaster headed by Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram met here on Saturday and discussed issues related to healthcare of the victims “who have suffered and perhaps continue to suffer”.
“We have discussed issues relating to Bhopal victims health,” Chidambaram said.
He also said that a decision regarding hospitals run by the Bhopal Memorial Trust will be taken by the group.
During the day, the GoM also discussed all the pending legal issues and legal options.
“We discussed one all pending legal issues and number two all legal options that are available to the government after the judgment of the trial court,” Chidambaram said.
He also informed that the group has come to some tentative conclusions, which will be firmed up when they prepare the report for Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
“We have heard everyone concerned; we have reached some tentative conclusions, but these conclusions will be firmed up while we prepare the report of the Prime Minister,” Chidambaram said.
Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh had earlier on Monday asked the GoM to submit its report within ten days. (ANI)
