NEW YORK - Friends of former American Vice President Al Gore and actor/producer/director Larry David’s ex-wife have denied reports of an affair going on for the past two years.
Gore, 62, was reported to be having a steamy, ongoing romance with Laurie David, 52, who co-produced his Oscar-winning flick “Inconvenient Truth”.
According to Star magazine, their affair is said to be the reason behind Gore’s shocking split from high-school-sweetheart Tipper two weeks ago.
“It’s love. They went from friends to lovers. It couldn’t be avoided. They have a lot in common,” the New York Post quoted a source as telling the magazine.
Laurie, 52, immediately blasted the report as “completely untrue”.
“It’s a total fabrication,” she told the Huffington Post, where she regularly blogs.
“I adore both Al and Tipper. I look at them both as family. And I have happily been in a serious relationship since my divorce,” she stated.
Friends of Gore also scoffed at the “insane” notion that the pair is an item.
But the source revealed that even Gore himself had a difficult time accepting the pair’s unstoppable lust for each other.
“Al felt bad about falling for someone else because he has so much respect for Tipper,” the source said.
“But Al fell hard for Laurie. She took his breath away. They’re very passionate about each other,” the source revealed. (ANI)
