WASHINGTON - Two armed men attempting to gain illegal entry to MacDill Air Force Base in Florida were arrested.

An inspection of their vehicle found military-style gear and weapons. No explosives were found, but the incident is still under investigation.

The two men were in custody after trying to access the base about 5:00 p.m. local time through the Bayshore Gate, FOX News reports.

They were stopped when they were unable to show proper identification, said a US Air Force statement.

The Bayshore Gate is closed but the rest of MacDill, including the Dale Mabry Gate, is operating normally, the report added. (ANI)
